Creative QR Codes

Since these new QR codes have come out I have been struggling with just how to make them work in my designs. They are so ugly and have to be so big that it is a real challenge incorporating them into my work.

Here are some great ideas on how to make the QR code sexy.

Bud Light & Sunny Weather

I really like these banner ads on the weather network for Bud Light. Really made me want to crack one open and I don't even like beer...Good work.

I love the way they have thought outside the box here. The colours are such great compliments to each other and really "pop" and wow, no red anywhere...interesting.

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

The best ad is an ad that gets noticed. Filling every inch of the ad with copy
about all the great things that you have to offer is not necessarily going to get you noticed.
Get their attention first and wow them with your product once they are in.
Word of mouth will do the rest.

the logo is not enormous, there are not gigantic headlines
and lists of benefits and features, just plain, simple, to the point and memorable.

The Creative Type

I just LOVE this creative look at type.

For me, fonts are such an important part of the process. If they are right, they can be the star of the show, creating a feeling and a base for your design.

If they are wrong, they stand out like an exposed vertebrae. Read a bit about the design process of this image HERE.

to just gawk at them.
